I live in the countryside just outside Winchester, Hampshire with my husband and our rather enormous Rhodesian Ridgeback. Our blended family includes 5 grown up sons, granting me extensive experience with children and adolescents!
My journey in the field of therapy began with graduating first in Rapid Transformational Therapy where I specialised in helping individuals dealing with anxiety and trauma. This path led me to become a Brainspotting Practitioner, provide Internal Family System sessions, Positive Psychology Coaching, a Narcissistic Abuse Specialist, a Safe and Sound Practitioner and an Integrative Changeworker Practitioner amongst others.
My own life’s challenges including bouts of depression in my 20’s and 30’s ultimately led to a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I truly believe this was due to previous traumas and also childhood traumas that were late in coming to the surface.
Anyone who has been entangled with a narcissist, whether in a personal, parental of work relationship, understands the profound impact it can have on your nervous system. Trauma becomes deeply embedded in the body and brain, and speech cannot access the part of the brain that holds the trauma. But working with a trauma-informed therapist who empathises with your pain and possesses the tools to work with trauma can be a transformative part of your healing journey.
My qualifications and personal experiences uniquely equip me to guide my clients toward ‘triumph over trauma’.
While some may wonder if my job, dealing with people’s complex traumas and anxiety is emotionally taxing, the truth is quite the opposite. The immense satisfaction I derive from witnessing my clients break free from the above, keeps me inspired and elated! When clients share their heartfelt feedback, I am deeply moved and humbled by their words. This is the incredible power of the therapies I offer, a calling that will never cease to fill me with pleasure.
During my leisure time, I love to play golf, taking long walks with my dog, horseback riding and gardening. I am almost constantly enrolled in various work-related courses because my passion for learning ensures I stay current in the rapidly evolving field of neuroscience. On rainy days when outdoor activities are put on hold, you’ll find me engrossed in a novel or passionately cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
